Sunda Systems Oy is a Finnish language technology company, established in 2004. Our mission is to develop general language-independent machine translations. This MT technology is utilized and integrated in our development of general language-independent machine translation systems, for both personal and corporate use.

Sunda is comprised of qualified linguists and language specialists who have extensive experience in machine translation. Our translation systems are designed with the following objectives:

• Sunda’s MT technology should be general and language-independent in the sense that it can be used to develop a machine translator for any language pair, without any preconditions.
• Sunda’s technology is based on sound linguistic principles that will provide efficient and accurate translations.
• The development environment should be simple and efficient to use.

Sunda has succeeded in these goals. To test the technology in a concrete setting, we have developed an English-Finnish translator. The translator is deterministic and translates about 1000 sentences per second on a standard PC. Sunda also provides a Finnish-English translator. It is based on Kielikone Oy's TranSmart® machine translation system.

Sunda is currently developing an English-Swedish translator using the English-Finnish translator as a basis. We aim to apply our technology to a wide variety of language pairs in the near future.
